Time To Pick Sandra Fluke As Their Person Of The Year?

It’s the perfect choice, I think.

In this gimme-gimme age, we wouldn’t want to pick someone who has built something great, or accomplished something amazing. We need, as the poster child for what America is right now, someone who has made herself famous (or, perhaps more accurately, was made famous by Rush Limbaugh calling her names) by demanding that other people provide her with free stuff.

It’s perfect. Sandra Fluke and her overweening sense of entitlement are a pitch-perfect synopsis for American attitudes.

In the past Time has honored people like Martin Luther King for fighting for equality and justice. By picking Fluke we’d be honoring someone who is fighting for the “right” to have other people pay for her stuff.

It would be a sad, but pertinent, commentary.
