Tea Partier Maxwell makes if official: He’s running for Congress in Omaha

As Nebraska Watchdog reported Tuesday, Tea Partier Chip Maxwell is making it official.

He’s running for Congress.

“I am not ready to make a formal announcement because I’m still putting together my campaign plan and team,” says Maxwell. “I have a plan to save the country, but first I have to put together a winning campaign plan.”

Maxwell is downplaying what he calls “hysterical assertions” as Democrats and their candidate Brad Ashford now see a clear path to victory—with Maxwell splitting the district’s conservative vote— over 8-term incumbent Republican Lee Terry.
