Port: Fargo television station Valley News Live falsely reports Donald Trump attack on Doug Burgum

MINOT — Valley News Live, a Fargo-based television station, published a news article purporting that former President Donald Trump had launched a social media attack against North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum, but it’s not clear that Trump actually made the post.

Burgum is competing against Trump in the GOP’s presidential primary, and given Trump’s propensity for prurient and juvenile attacks on his political enemies, both real and perceived, the report had the ring of legitimacy.

“Despite your beloved and favorite 45th President being ARRESTED today, I still have a very impressive lead against GOP RHINOS like Dakota “Dud” Burgum, who is funded by Bill Gates and Dr. “Lock him up” Fauci,” a screenshot of a supposed Trump social media post published by VNL said. “Dud has a worse rating than Season 16 of American Idol, a very sad show.”
