Port: Does anyone believe in individual liberty anymore?
MINOT — This week marked Nobel Prize-winning economist Milt Friedman’s 111th birthday (or, as Bilbo put it, “one hundred and eleventieth” ).
Milt Friedman’s work, frequently done in partnership with his wife, Rose Friedman, a brilliant economist in her own right, is the foundation of my political outlook. Their book, “Free to Choose,” which was also turned into a 10-episode television series, was a revelation for my younger self in the way Ayn Rand or Noam Chomsky were for others.
