Plain Talk Live: Filmmaker Matt Fern Talks About His “Fighting Sioux” Logo Documentary
MINOT, N.D. — The debate over, and eventual retirement of, the University of North Dakota’s “Fighting Sioux” logo and nickname lasted for years.
Now filmmaker Matt Fern is telling that story in a documentary called “Fighting over Sioux” that will air on WDAY-XTRA on Sunday, April 4, at 7 pm CST, throughout North Dakota and Minnesota.
The film was released last fall, amid the pandemic, in theaters across the region, and has also been available online for on-demand viewing. To see a trailer, click here.
