Omaha House race: One last surprise?
Joe Jordan | Nebraska Watchdog
The too close to call Omaha House race between GOP Congressman Lee Terry and Democrat Brad Ashford has been one surprise after another:
- Tea partier Dan Frei loses the May primary but gives Terry all the 8-term incumbent can handle.
- Independent Chip Maxwell gathers enough signatures to launch a 3rd party campaign in the general election only to pull out at the last minute.
- Convicted murderer Nikko Jenkins, highlighted in GOP ads attacking Ashford, blurts out “Vote for Lee Terry” during a recent court appearance.
But those are just for openers. Does another name on Tuesday’s ballot mean there’s one more surprise coming?
