Video: Tornado Hits Man Camp In Western North Dakota
“Dude, where do we go?”
Those are the frightened words of a man living in a man camp near Watford City can be heard saying as a tornado bore down.
Man camps, for the uninitiated, are temporary housing developments set up by the oil industry to house the massive influx of workers into the Bakken oil fields.
There were nine people injured in the tornado, one critically, but no deaths thankfully. Consider this a bullet dodged.

North Dakota is a land of weather extremes. The state is both one of the coldest in the country and one of the warmest. With so many living in temporary shelter in western North Dakota, it’s time to have a serious discussion about how to protect them when severe weather moves in.
