It’s official: Tea partyer Maxwell won’t challenge GOP’s Lee Terry

In a move stunning folks on both sides of the aisle, tea partyer Chip Maxwell made it official (today) Thursday: He’s not running against Republican Congressman Lee Terry in 2014.

As Nebraska Watchdog reported exclusively, Maxwell—worried about growing criticism that he’d split the conservative vote and send Democrat Brad Ashford to Capitol Hill in November—is now looking at the 2016 race.
While making the announcement Maxwell also showed off what he says are 2,000 signatures—the number needed to get his name on the ballot— that Maxwell spent the last few months picking up.
