Voters in Fremont, a town that has seen its Hispanic population triple since 2000, are holding (see video above) a re-vote Tuesday on illegal immigration.
Nebraska Watchdog is tracking today’s vote—a move to repeal a 2010 city rule prohibiting landlords from renting to those in the country illegally.
According to the latest U.S. census figures, as of 2010 Fremont was 88 percent white and 12 percent Hispanic. The Hispanic population grew from 1,090 in 2000 to 3,149 four years ago.
The polls are open until 8 p.m. Stay with Nebraska Watchdog throughout the day and evening for analysis and results.
