Good News: Michelle Obama Says It’s Ok To Eat What You Want On Thanksgiving

The Obama administration’s default position on this matter is that Americans “do not have a fundamental right to obtain any food they wish.” Or, as Michelle Obama herself put it, “Desert is not a right.”

But they’re willing to relent for Thanksgiving. Which is big of them, I guess.

Barbara Walters White House interview, which included first lady Michelle Obama, ranged from the strife between North and South Korea to airport screening, the midterm elections, the economy, and Thanksgiving traditions.

Michelle Obama said it’s fine to eat what you want on Thanksgiving.

“Don’t worry about how much you eat. Just enjoy it,” she said. “This is the time. Have pie.”

It’s a free country, as long as your diet is in keeping with what the government thinks your diet should be. And as long as you use the light bulbs the government wants you to use. And as long as you drive the cars they want you to drive. And as long as you power your home with the power sources they want you to use.

In other words, we’re not that free a country any more.
