Christmas Holiday Open Thread, And Some Holiday Fun Recommendations

I’ll be spending the holiday break with friends and family, so things are going to be pretty slow around SAB until the new year.

Feel free to talk among yourselves in the comment thread. And if your family is anything like mine, board games are how we like to spend our holiday time together. I have a recommendation for a board game we’ve picked up on in the last year or so which has been a real hit.

It’s called Ticket to Ride. We play the European map since it’s a little more challenging, but the American map is fun too.

Also worth your time is Settlers of Catan. My seven year old loves it, but it’s plenty of fun and challenge for all ages.

One game I got for Christmas (yes, it was an early present) was Power Grid. WDAY producer Kyle Iverson suggested this one to me on air a week or so back, and I’m excited to give it a try.
