Bob Kerrey calls President Obama a delusional liar who ‘sucked less’ than Romney

“Cosmic Bob” is making headlines again.

Former U.S. Sen. Bob Kerrey unleashed a blistering critique of his fellow Democrat, President Obama in an interview with the Daily Mail Online, saying Obama got elected merely because he “sucked less” than Mitt Romney and knowingly lied about his health care plan.

“He had to know he was misleading the audience,” Kerrey is quoted as saying about the president’s promises about the Affordable Care Act, chiefly the promise that Americans could keep their health plans if they liked them.

“On the other hand, he may have said it so many times that the spell-checker wasn’t in the room – the spell-checker, the fact-checker – somebody who says, ‘Excuse me, Mr. President, but I hope you know this…’ .”

That was an impossible promise to keep, Kerrey said, because millions of Americans had bare-bones, cheaper policies than Obamacare now mandates.

But that wasn’t the biggest stinker Obama sold Americans, according to Kerrey. The biggest lie was the premise that everyone deserves high-quality, affordable health care.

“Excuse me? Uh, I don’t know if you’ve heard about the bell curve?” he snarked. “If I’ve got 1,000 doctors, 100 are great, and 100 are not so good.” He outlined the shape of a bell curve with his hands, and then threw them skyward.
“It’s absolutely impossible,” he said.
“And affordable? Forget about it.”

Kerrey said he wouldn’t have taken on health care reform in 2009, when the U.S. economy was still faltering. He also said Obama isn’t up to the task of breaking the congressional logjam.

Kerrey has made splashy headlines before, including the time he called Bill Clinton “an unusually good liar.” (He lost to Clinton in the 1991 Democratic primary for president.)
