Port: Ambulance service says they’ve filed an ethics complaint against state auditor

MINOT, N.D. — Ann Hafner, an emergency medical technician and executive director of the Killdeer Area Ambulance Service, says her organization has filed an ethics complaint against a member of state Auditor Josh Gallion’s office.

The complaint, which Hafner shared with me and said was filed on Monday, Feb. 20, alleges that a quality assurance officer in Gallion’s office released information about an ongoing audit to inappropriately.

That was one of the issues I covered in a recent story about local officials saying Gallion’s office has mistreated them. In that story, Hafner told me that a member of Gallion’s staff shared the status of an in-process audit with a local activist who was campaigning against an increase in the property tax mill levy that funds the ambulance service.
