Petitioners to Legalize Recreational Marijuana Turn in About 18,700 Signatures to the North Dakota Secretary of State
Last month I reported that the organizers of a ballot measure to legalize recreational marijuana felt they had the requisite number to put their issue on the ballot in November.
Today is the deadline for turning in those signatures, and according to a release from Secretary of State Al Jaeger the organizers have turned in 451 petitions containing roughly 18,700 signatures.

The law requires 13,452 signatures to make the ballot, so barring unforeseen complications this issue will be on the statewide ballot in November.

State law now allows the Secretary of State 35 days to validate the signatures.
