We Now Return You To Your Regularly Scheduled Programming
….and we’re back.
After an excruciating several days, Say Anything should be back up and running. There are still a few kinks to work out, but for the most part all should be well again.
Most importantly, I can start updating again.
Thanks to all of you who emailed offering help. I appreciate it. The problem, as it turned out, was administrative. As I’ve explained previously, SAB’s growing traffic has necessitated a series of hosting moves over the last couple of years. As luck would have it, the latest host I moved to acquired a previous host I’d used and apparently somewhere in the bowels of their administrative records they still had my domain – sayanythingblog.com – associated with that old and closed account.
They couldn’t, in their system, assign my new domain to my new hosting account until it was disassociated from my old account. And nobody could figure out how to do that.
That alone took us two days to figure out. And then it took us another couple of days to hit upon the right combination of administrative changes to release my domain for the new hosting.
The whole time I was stuck. I couldn’t move forward with new posts, and I couldn’t go back to my old hosting.
As blogging has become something that’s second nature to me, something I do almost instinctively, I can say that this process has been excruciating.
But now, thankfully, it’s over.
Regular posting will resume again tomorrow. Thanks for your patience.
