IL Democrats take advantage of last days of one-party rule

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — Illinois Democrats have one last bite at the apple before a new Republican governor takes over in January.

Democratic lawmakers are using their finals days of one-party control to muscle through their wish list of legislation. By week’s end, Illinois taxpayers could see new laws raising the minimum wage, opening trial courts to more lawsuits, doubling down on the state’s commitment to Obamacare and possibly restricting some public information.

Illinois Watchdog Radio’s Benjamin Yount had a chance to speak with Illinois Senate Republican Leader Christine Radogno about the final days of one-party control and the frustration Republicans are feeling.
