Michigan finishes dead last in educational progress
NO PROGRESS MADE: A newly released state-focused educational report card finds that Michigan made zero progress in 4th and 8th grade Math and reading.

Michigan is the only state to make zero progress in fourth and eighth grade math and reading test results between 2003 and 2013, according to the National Assessment of Educational Progress.
The American Legislative Exchange Council has just released its Report Card on American Education: K-12 Performance, Progress and Reform report, which includes a detailed analysis of NAEP testing results.
One of the study’s findings: “State academic achievement improved from 2003 to 2013, at least in one subject, with only a single exception: Michigan.”
The report breakdowns the scores by subject, grade, all students, low-income students, and other factors.
Other findings for Michigan:
