Video Exclusive: GOP’s Ben Sasse reluctant to discuss minimum wage drive
Joe Jordan | Nebraska Watchdog
GOP Senate hopeful Ben Sasse says between now and Election Day, Nebraskans “deserve a real conversation.”
At the same time though when specifically asked by Nebraska Watchdog if he’s out of touch with Nebraskans when it comes to raising the minimum wage, well Sasse didn’t want to talk.
Election officials are pouring over the signatures of some 135,000 Nebraskans who signed a petition aimed at putting the issue on the November ballot. Nebraskans for Better Wages need 81,000 signatures — or 7 percent of registered voters — with at least 5 percent from 38 of the state’s 93 counties.
Even critics of a higher minimum wage tell Nebraska Watchdog it appears the petition drive has worked and they expect voters will OK the raise.
As for Sasse take a look, in this exclusive video below, at what he did or didn’t tell Nebraska Watchdog’s Joe Jordan.
