To say Gov. Sam Brownback has been a political punching bag for standing against the push for Medicaid expansion would be an understatement. In a nutshell: Why should we trust the federal government, with its horrendous track record of managing money, to keep its promise and shoulder the cost of an expanded Medicaid program in Kansas? Rep. Pompeo trolls EPA’s Gina McCarthy in Reddit AMA

Hot on the heels of the Environmental Protection Agency’s decree to reduce power plant emissions by 30 percent before 2030, administrator Gina McCarthy took to the web — specifically, Reddit — to drum up support. Roeland Park council may rescind public comment experiment

Local government meetings have long been a forum for aggravated citizens to express their displeasure in decisions exercised by local elected officials. And council members in Roeland Park agree this is beneficial, but also say it’s possible to have too much of a good thing. After a trial run where citizens were allowed to comment at an expanded number of meetings, city officials are having second thoughts. here.
