GOP’s Lee Terry shells out big bucks to keep party’s nod
Joe Jordan | Nebraska Watchdog
If Lee Terry comes up short Tuesday, it won’t be for lack of trying or at least spending.
The 8-term Omaha Congressman has shelled out an unprecedented—for him—$900,000 keeping upstart Dan Frei out of the winner’s circle in the GOP primary. Frei has raised and spent $40,000.
At the same time Terry and Frei are squabbling over some last minute mailers Terry sent out ripping Frei on immigration. Frei calls the hit “dirty politics.”
Terry once told Nebraska Watchdog these primary fights only “soften” him up for the Democrats in November.
So let’s fast forward to Wednesday: does the loser shake hands and for the “good of the party” move on?
Decide for yourself (see video below).
