This is not your regular desktop alert. Download here to find out for yourself. The alerts are flashy, with occasional graphics relating to the story. If you’re online you’ll receive the alert immediately after the post appears on Say Anything.

But most importantly they do not interrupt whatever you are working on at the moment. And they disappear after 10 seconds if you don’t mouse-over or click on them, so no need to close each one.

You can view your archives later if you were too busy to click at the time. If you miss an alert, it will be delivered once you get back to your computer. You will never get more than one alert at a time, and you won’t get “bombed all at once”.

In the coming weeks, you will get new alerts that will have the ability to add a “quip” (short response) to each alert. These quips will appear next to the article’s alert.
