A buzzard flying “about head high” in front of his kitchen window and several of the buzzard’s cousins roosting in a nearby tree prompted C.W. “Cam” Choate to discover a 35-pound mushroom last week.

Choate, 78, thought somebody might have shot a deer and couldn’t find it.
