The big problem towards getting to a solution is whether you will find a female that will go along with the old-fashioned gender roles and role models.
Trust is a major issue. Can you find a gal that will stick with you until death do you part, or just until the youngest can be sent to day-care?
Feminazi inroads into the legal system (for a good examination of cause and effects, see http://www.glennsacks.com/blog/) have put the modern Western Woman on a hair-trigger to divorce court, or even unfounded accusations of rape or abuse (studies have shown in some cases, over half of rape accusations were false and motivated by the desire for retribution)
The world of John Wayne (see just about any film with him vis-a-vis Maureen O’Hara) would be very different today. He would likely have lost his guns, his job, be required to undergo a 26 week Anger Management course and, if he was lucky, might get to see his kids for a couple hours on weekends.
I am not saying that the good ole’ days required wife beating. I am saying—and I am dealing with this on other’s behalves on an almost-daily basis—is that the mere accusation can ruin your life. This is particularly true for professional corporate types. The self-employed stand a far better chance of weathering this sort of ordeal.
Currently, I am assisting a series of different men with very similar problems, e.g. running a gauntlet of false accusations of abuse and very, very vindictive wives alienating their non-custodial children against them. (from the trends I am seeing, beware of girls from Central and South America! )
Nor do I mean to divert the very important initial intent of this thread. The premise very much holds true. I am just pointing out that there are very real legalistic roadblocks to having the internal familial environment needed to accomplish that goal.
It may well be that a surrogacy agreement and a series of Swedish au pairs might be the avenue for a man to raise a son or sons, like Fred McMurray’s My Three Sons, in the old-fashioned sense without fear of having them taken away.
Has it come to this?

Meanwhile, the boy’s father has to do his part. He needs to mirror and affirm his son’s maleness. He can play rough-and-tumble games with his son, in ways that are decidedly different from the games he would play with a little girl. He can help his son learn to throw and catch a ball. He can teach him to pound a square wooden peg into a square hole in a pegboard. He can even take his son with him into the shower, where the boy cannot help but notice that Dad has a penis, just like his, only bigger.

There’s a new book out every month about how you don’t need a man in the house to raise a man. TV shows typically are full of metro-sexual, gay, and otherwise wimpy male characters, and nearly every Hollywood movie that comes out has at least one homosexual character. Almost every dad in the movies or on TV is either a miserable lout or a complete buffoon. At school your kids are subjected to all sorts of programs designed to promote unmanly lifestyles. Real men have disappeared from history books and have been replaced with politically correct figures. Any boy reading magazines, attending public school, and watching TV or movies would assume that half of the men in the world are gay, and the other half are metro-sexual or girlie men. That’s why your job as a father is as tough as it’s even been. It’s you against the world.
I don’t know what you mean by metro-sexual. I detest the idea that you don’t need a man in the house to raise a child (boy or girl). Gays exist in every society and culture on earth. They are not all child molesters or recruiters for their lifestyle. I see no reason to hide this. I also see no need to demonize them.
My problem with the portrayal of men in every medium out there today is that of silly, selfish boys who never grow up. In every sitcom men are engaged in what can only be called adolescent behavior. To add insult to injury, children are portrayed as lost and most have no respect for mom or dad. I rail against this all the time. I do see a few good dramas with strong male characters and families. But I applaud Hollywood for creating shows that are more true to life than the sugar coated TV we grew up with.

You’re obviously drinking the feminist KoolAid; sitcoms in the Fifties, with rare exception, portrayed husbands as foolish bumblers who were constantly getting bailed out by their wives, who were always much wiser than the husband.

Until recent decades, and with short term exceptions like the very late stages of the Roman Empire, homosexuals were always considered perverse (off the normal course of human behavior), they lived on the fringes of society and were ashamed of their lifestyle choice.
If they do not recruit, why in our public schools are they pushing a pro-gay agenda, including encouraging children to explore homosexuality and to even engage in oral sex and sodomy to see if they prefer those activities. Sounds like recruiting to me, but telling those in high school about a career in the military is increasingly being forbidden. Strange upside down turn of events, huh?
God said that in the Last Days, as we get closer to His return, people would call things he condemns and calls bad, like murder (abortion. euthanasia) and homosexuality to be good; and, they would call things He calls good like obeying the 10 Commandments or defending life to be bad. We are there!
I would add that child molestors, often male on male; rapists, theives, murderers and all sorts of maladjusted souls exist in every society and have throughout much of human history; but if you use that excuse to justify homosexual conduct, you must justify all these others as well. It was a false and excuse me if it sounds rude, a bit of a silly point to make IMO.
