Can someone explain how this is legal to hold an ADULT like her and take her child?

You know, I wouldn’t blame her if she previously claimed to be a minor. What better way to prevent the authorities from separating you from your children?
Who even knows what is really going on? This entire fiasco is going to cost the gov’t big time and not simply in funds.
What a shame

Talk about one-sided posting. Young boys in the sect have written about being raped now, in addition to the pregnant teenagers. So, one (maybe two?) of 31 (?) pregnant ‘presumed’ teenagers is -maybe- proven to be an adult and we are back to carping about ‘miscarriage of justice’?
How about the miscarriage of justice with 13 & 14 year olds pregnant by old men. When all 31 ‘presumed teenagers’ are proven to be adults then I’ll have a conversation about CPS being wrong. Until then, to take into custody one ‘young looking’ adult woman until she can prove she is an adult is erring on the side of caution. Where in the post did we ask the following questions:
-was that the woman’s first child? or was she too raped as a teenager and this is actually her 4th (or more) child?
-are young boys also being raped?
-children under 10 are 50/50 boys & girls, but older teens and adults are disproportionately women; what happens to the boys in their late teens, where are they? Are they cared for, supported monetarily?
I’m willing to wait until the DNA testing comes back to prove whom is a child of whom. Again, I don’t care if one woman was detained and was able to prove later she’s over 18; in order to save the 11 & 12 year olds from a horrible fate once they reach 13 or 14.

More and more stories of torture and unimaginable things have been revealed lately. Pretty creepy! AND that unibrow thing really bothers me!

I have some tweezers that are chomping at the bit to get to her!

I am for erring on the side of freedom and in this I may be wrong, but I want to see FACTS not press releases by bureaucrats.

Me too! I have seen former members speak about the abuse. BUT show me the facts!

I just don’t see this happening if it was an islamic compound, and that’s sad.

Texas fucked up and they should have to pay big individual damages to every single detainnee. They also should have to face charges of false imprisonment for detaining adult mothers as children.

That is because you appear to value your emotions as being of greater importance than the rule of Law. It is because, IMO, you seem to despise the concept of presumtion of innocence, preferring to make your judgments based on news stories and your own emotions. You must be a liberal!
The authorities went into this compound based on a false charge by a disturbed woman not associated with this cult in any manner, they had a right to search for her; but then they exceeded their authority by arresting people and seizing children absent probable cause based on a proper warrant,
The end result of what they found, no matter how dispicable and worthy of prosecution is of less importance than the rule of law. What? Yes, less important because if the authorities can get by with violating the law here as it may enjoy public sympathy, then no one in this country is safe from illegal searches and seizures, no family is safe from CPS seizure of their children.
