These include, but are not limited to:

Personal attack of the opponent, on various levels;

Unsupported claims of intellectual superiority, thus entitling them to a “win” with no facts or logic;

Changing the subject;

Blaming others;

Justifying their own bad behavior with the claim of bad behavior on the part of others;

Appeal to authority, usually with misquotes, mischaracterizations or cherry-picked, out of context snippets.

etc, etc....

Very self descripive piece bobbie blue

Unfortunately, r108, you are frequently guilty of a number of these.

you call people liars.

When in a tight spot, you shift the subject.

You claim others ‘attacked’ you first to justify your language and behavior.

You parse and cherry-pick with the best of them.

This post has a stench of projection bias.

“He who fights with monsters should look to it that he himself does not become a monster. And when you gaze long into an abyss the abyss also gazes into you.”
~Friedrich Nietzsche

Nunez:  I’m not sure what you mean by ‘projection bias’, but it certainly has the stench of self-righteous posturing.

pparets - 09:07pm on 07/01/2008

pparets,

Wikipedia:

In psychology, psychological projection (or projection bias) is a defense mechanism in which one attributes one’s own unacceptable or unwanted thoughts or/and emotions to others.

What’s your logical and factual argument for “projection”?  You have yet to prove that you are not projecting, here.  In fact, you have yet to present any logical or factual arguments at all.  All you seem to have is ad hominem.  As I have already pointed out multiple times, that is usually a sign of a lack of anything more.  I know you would give a logical or factual argument, if you had one.

This post has a stench of projection bias.

Starting with pp’s projection of what “moderate” means, like referring to govt-imposed rationing of energy as a “moderate policy”.  Of course, he never proved that case, either.  It was an unsupported statement.

When in a tight spot, you shift the subject.

Your lack of valid argument on everything is incapable of putting me in a “tight spot”.  Projecting again?  I have yet to see you admit any mistakes, even when you are thoroughly disproved.
