Reason Why I’m Glad I’m From North Dakota #105

And I thought having to scrape ice and snow off my truck before coming to work was a pain.

Ken from As I Please is having some commuting issues:

As far as the MTA goes, I'm not surprised that a union-run outfit operating during these sue-happy times would take this approach. But wouldn't it make more sense, I don't know, to just drag the sick person off of the train and onto the platform? Even if it's serious, especially if it's serious, you want the person off the train and onto an ambulance. I'm no communist, but sometimes the good of the many and all. Especially when the many in this case are already pissed about cattle-carring it to work and then having the daily grind made infinitely worse by stupid policy. Especially when you get to hear the following snippet of conversation while waiting for the local train. "Shit. I don't care. As long as there's a crowd around, I'll shoot a muthafucka in the heart and they'll never catch me." Granted, this guy was probably talking shit, having a little fun with the crowd (God, I hope he was), but you get the point.

People do get a little nutty in the cattle shute and it's just silly to risk a stampede. Any good cattle herder knows what to do in a situation where one cow, for whatever reason, puts the others at risk. I think the MTA should take some sensitivity lessons from Curly.
