Today Fox news is reporting the Sen Conrand,DND says the public option is dead. It might not survive each houses bill but will return in conference committee. It’s in a coma but not dead.

Democrats Don’t Need Dorgan

Senator Dorgan must be starting to feel like the Maytag repairman since he’s started his townhall circuit. Many North Dakotans I feel no long want him as their senator,but his party doesn’t need him to pass any bills. With the majority the Dems enjoy in the Senate he has the ability to vote no and them come back to ND and campaign on those votes. He touts at the townhalls that he did not vote for the TARP bill which is true but his party did not need his vote to pass it. He says he will not vote for any health care bill which has abortion or euthinasa included. It’s an empty promise as far as I am concerned. His party does not need him to pass a health care bill. He is chairman of the Democrat Policy committee. His fingerprints are all over these controversial bills. Elections have consquences.

Townhall meetings

As per yesterday’s Jamestown Sun Sen. Dorgan will be holding townhalls at Edgeley,ND at 2:45 and Oakes,ND at 4:30. ND readers of this blog who are within traveling distance should make plans to attend. Given the travel time he will have from Edgeley to Oakes that will leave maybe an hr of time in Edgeley. Probalbly less with the Sen. having opening filibuster comments.
