Media to Gun Owners: Lighten Up

Because heavens forbid we take the Bill of Rights seriously, and all.  In this case they are complaining because pressure got Mayor Tautznik to leave the organization, on the premise that it’s not really a local issue, and not something he really wanted to focus on. He couldn’t be more right. How would Masslive feel if we were to redo this issue in a First Amendment context rather than a Second Amendment context?

Mayor Against Illegal Speech support the First Amendment rights of Americans, and is only against illegal speech, like libel,child pornography and and spam. To that end, they propose modest restrictions on the number of e-mails people may send in any given month, in order to combat spam.  Background checks on allowing people to buy computers and digital camera equipment at public shows to ensure they don’t fall into the hands of peddlers in child porn. Naturally, we need a code of conduct for vendors who sell internet service, to ensure that they keep records on what their customers are downloading.

What we also need is for the government to keep a secret list of people suspected of being child abusers. Those people should not be able to buy internet service or computers. Too bad for the folks who happen to share a first name with someone who’s suspected to be a child abuser, or got himself on the list for hanging around public parks too much looking “creepy.”

MAIS also supports identifying information being placed in every packet of data transmitted on the internet, so that government agents can easily track information back to the source.  MAIS is also very much against laws that make it easy to transport computer equipment across state lines, and sensibly rejects laws that override local laws on obscene materials.

Does the media still want to argue that we need to “lighten up?”  Does it seem clearer now how an issue no one supports, in our case criminals getting guns, and in the First Amendment analogy, spammers and child pornographers, can be used to sell a sinister agenda for weakening an important constitutional right?  If First Amendment advocates were combating our fictional MAIS group, would they need to be told to “lighten up?”

In their pathetic attempt to try and get support for banning “high fence hunting” one HSUS loon was busted posting the exact same thing on two different sites.
Read the responses on the Tribs comments page, there is more than one HSUS nut acting like a concerned hunter. Since HSUS is against any hunting I wonder if those lunatics could define what a “real hunter” is for me.
I hunt and I know many other people that do as well and most, if not all, don’t have a problem with high fence hunting.

This guy’s letter reminds me of a liberal talk show host in ND… Joel Heitkamp.
He comes out a saying what a big fan of guns he is and then throws his support for another anti-gun liberal! Joel also LOVES to take shots at the NRA on almost a daily basis, his panties are in a bunch that NRA doesn’t support enough Democrats. Here’s a clue for you, Joel and Mr. Gebhardt. NRA mostly supports Republicans because the Dems bring up almost every piece of anti-gun legislation in America. If Sotomayor gets confirmed as the next justice, I’m quite sure she will side with the rest of the libs on the SCOTUS in trying to stomp out our 2nd Amendment rights.

5-4 decision. All the dissenters of our individual right as Americans to own guns were liberals. Who’s side do you suppose Sotomayor would take? I think we all know the answer to that. Including pro-gun phonies like Gebhardt and Heitkamp.

I’ve been looking for an article like this for years. The Brady Campaign is just like most other ignorant Libs, absolutely refuse the facts when they are presented.

Obama’s and his thugs have purportedly instructed the BATFE to go after American citizens who own “certain types of firearms”.
Let me save you the time my friends… Americans owning AR,AK, and other Semi-auto firearms are the supposed reason for Mexican, Jamaican, and world wide drug violence, according to Obama’s administration.
Of course this is total BS,  it’s little more than a phony excuse to start their un-constitutional gun ban agenda.
Get ready gun owners, the gun control shit WILL hit the fan soon. This includes YOU bolt action,lever, and pump gun owners, don’t kid yourselves! This ain’t just about so called “assault rifles”, it’s going to be about EVERY GUN in America. Don’t, doubt me.
How’s that hope and change working out? Thats what I thought.

The LA Times has already jumped on it:

In the meantime, illegally obtained U.S. weapons — including an increasing number of automatic rifles — are being used to kill thousands of Mexican police, soldiers, elected officials and civilians, the report said.

If they are finding increasing numbers of automatic weapons being traced back to the US, it’s through legal sales by the US Government to the Mexican Government.  Those aren’t coming from civilian stock.  There’s no way they could be.

But the GAO criticisms go beyond operational concerns. Some findings cited laws and policies in the U.S. and Mexico that could make it difficult to institute lasting reforms such as lax U.S. laws for collecting and reporting information on firearms purchases, and a lack of required background checks for private firearms sales.

I have to wonder if this was engineered by the anti-gun leadership in Congress to embarrass the White House into helping them corral the pro-gun Democrats into towing the leadership line.  That must be why the anti-gun politicians and anti-gun groups were ready to pounce on it as soon as it came out.

The story is a bit dated but I’ve known about this for sometime now. I think many of you will find this disturbing. Obama’s administration is full of nut jobs like this Cass Sunstein. It’s amazing (wink,wink) that we didn’t hear a peep in the MSM about this freaks twisted mind.
How poor a judge of character must someone be to appoint a psychopath like Mr. Sunstein to any position in the U.S. Govt?
