Wisconsin bear population growing

here’s a cross post from http://www.outdoornewsguy.com on the growing wisconsin bear populatioin

This is good news,” said Keith Warnke, Department of Natural Resources deer and bear ecologist. “It means we have a healthy bear population, and we may be able to expand bear hunting opportunity. The other good news is that more people will have opportunities to see these great animals in the wild.”

Here in PA we have a thriving bear population, as a matter of fact one has been helping his bad ole self to my bird feeder. Thats OK, he and his get are quite welcome a bit of bird seed!

I’ll ask around and see if I can find some local pics to post.

There’s a ton of black bears in Vermont. They don’t get too big… compared to the one’s out west… maybe 300-600 lbs on average…
