Who knows what these people are doing?

And a cookie for the first one that can guess where I was at 07:00 this morning.

No, I was not part of that group of volunteers, I was there to etch a name for a friend of mine who can not travel to DC. Or, more appropriately, won’t.

A grateful Thank You to all those who volunteer each week to clean the VietNam Veterans Memorial.

Booyaa!

Hotel -

What they’re doing is something that the left will never understand. They’re honoring those who gave their lives in the uniform of this country.

I have talked with one of the Watchers who help people find names and supply paper and graphite to do the etching, he says that in all the years he has been serving there he has only seen one bad incident. It was a domestic-type problem, not anti-war.

What is sad is the conversations I have heard there. Young people asking questions and making comments that show a total lack of knowledge about the basic history of our involvement in VN.

For several years I stopped going. I still don’t go when there are crowds. Late night and dawn are my preferred time slots.

I offered to help, they said that was alright. I might have been on some news footage, there were 2 camera crews there for Father’s Day. And as I was leaving I saw a podium and speakers being set up in the meadow on the Wash Mon side. Don’t know what that was about. I don’t stick around DC anymore. I really despise that city.
