When will they give GW Bush the Nobel Prize?

I was listening to the radio on the way into the office this morning and heard a commentary by a gentleman from Geneva College here in PA.  He was talking about a study that was released last April by Stanford University citing how the $15 billion that then president GW Bush gave for fighting AIDS in Africa has resulted in a million lives saved.  The entire article can be found here:

The question that was raised in the radio report is why hasn’t this been covered in the media?  If this was Bill Clinton’s initiative, or Barack Obama’s, they would already be erecting giant statues in their honor.  And rightfully so.  But the fact is that the man who enacted this program, announced in his 2003 State of the Union address, was a Republican, and even a mildly conservative one.

The fact that they believe that a million lives were saved because this program was enacted is huge.  How many other lives were impacted by this act of charity and kindness?  How many people will be able to go on with their lives and raise their families?

I hear of these types of charitable acts coming from Christians and Conservatives quite frequently, but almost never mentioned in the MSM.  Is there a double-standard here, or is it only noteworthy when someone from the left does something commendable?

They heap praise on people like Yasser Arafat, Al Gore, Jimmy Carter and other liberal icons almost daily, but rarely do you hear outside of conservative circles about the many wonderful things that people from that side do.  When do you think they’ll nominate GWB for a Nobel?
