Oh how Satan works in our lives

Today in church (Family of God Lutheran in East Grand Forks, MN) the message was how Jesus was tempted by Satan when he was in the desert for 40 days. For every temptation offered to Jesus, Jesus countered it with Bible passages.  He (the devil) is very appealing to those looking for the easy way out.  Looking at what he was offering Jesus, most men would have fallen for the deception portrayed to them by the devil.  Satan knows the faults of human nature and works on the greed of man and the longing for power he has.  It is human nature to be as efficient as possible and do what he can with as little effort as possible.  Sometimes it is easier to push people out of the way, step on some toes or even take what is not theirs in order to achieve goals.  By doing that, this is the work of the devil working through greed and causing strife in our community.

The devil is working in our governments, local, state and federal.  Our politicians claim they are working for us, however most have their own agenda.  Whether it is for something as petty as job security or for wind fall earning effected by laws being made.

The devil is at work trying to get the ten commandments removed from all schools and public building, removing the words “under God” from our Pledge Allegiance to our flag or removal of prayer in our schools.  They say they want to do this to keep from offending other people and their religions.  Bull Crap, or tough, This is our country.  Our constitution is written to respect all faiths, colors and creeds.  We all need to become familiar with other cultures so that we may respect others rather than make fun of or ridicule people with different cultures, religions, skin color or political party association.

The devil is working in our schools and working in our media deadening the senses of of our youth leaving very little to our imagination with the sexualization of our children at such a young age.  Our liberal leaders would rather offer condoms to our students in 6th or seventh grade rather than teach them abstinence.  Our public schools are normalizing homosexuality as in it is OK to live in sin with same sex marriages.  Satan is teaching tolerance in our school systems and even in our own churches.

Satan has worked his magic in using abortion as a contraceptive and got our people to feel OK about it, hell he even worked our governing bodies to make it legal in 1973.  For each of these laws being passed for the convenience of the people to make life easier rather than making the people become responsible for their own actions.  Our God is a forgiving God and for the mistakes we make, he will forgive us.  But it must be pretty hard for him to feel good about our laws being made to make some sins legal, like murder of helpless beings.  These people opting to use abortion are cowards.  The devil is showing you an easy way out, but your conscience will haunt you for the rest of your life.

We all need to make our decisions based upon prayerful consideration, ask our selves “What Would Jesus Do?”.  If we all could be content with the decision made after asking that, the devil would have a real hard time getting a foot hold in our lives today.

You seem like a strict adherent, Gustave. You make such metaphorical use of ‘the devil’ though?

This is our country.

A Lutheran country eh? Or are you including me in that ‘our’? Its part my country too. Do you really think the devil made abortion illegal? Do you really think God likes you invoking him for political use? Personally, I think most Christians are lucky God doesn’t met out the punishments. Plenty of vice to go around in that demographic.
