It’s a global economy these days, Troy, whether you want to admit it or not and your assertion that buying a foreign-made product just sends that money to “Japan” or wherever sounds like the rantings of...well...a stupid person.

Try to think (I know it’s hard) of what the impact on our economy would be if we could only buy US-made products.  Suddenly everything from television sets to pocket calculators costs significantly more.

Sure we’d be buying everything from US businesses, but we’d be paying a hell of a lot more for it and thus buying less.

We couldn’t meet our needs because we no longer manufacture or produce what we need.  Similar to 2001, after you voted for Al Gore, you will have another “awakening” when the BS you spew blows up in your face.

Well we no longer manufacture everything domestically because there’s no need to.  We can get it cheaper from other places.

But back to my question which you avoided because there’s no good answer to it:

If we did manufacture everything on our markets domestically, what impact would that have on our economy:

My (correct) hypothesis is that our economy would crumble, because the money we save by purchasing goods from foreign countries is significant.  Without those savings we buy less, and the economy suffers.
