What If?….

What If.... John McCain Died of Natural Causes today??

God forbid a great American hero and Presidential candidate would die of natural causes while running for President, but what would happen, and how could the Republicans win the race?

First, Since Sarah Palin actually has the most executive experience, and also the most experience being a Commander-in-Chief of any of the 4 people on the current tickets, and since she is a total ROCK STAR in the Republican Party, she would be the logical choice to continue on as the head of the ticket.

However, since She is a newcomer to the national political scene, and the press is totally in the Obama camp except for the new media, she would need to take some steps to insure the people that she is the leader for true change at this time of upheaval in our economy.

So, What could she do?

How about naming here cabinet up front, and letting everyone know the true depth of her intelligence and political moxy.

Here would be some Cabinet ideas, including the Vice President:

VP - Newt Gingrich - He is the smartest guy on the planet.  The architecht of the Contract with America and American Solutions.org, he is also a professor of history, and so knows what it will take to turn our country around.  He is very knowledgeable on Foriegn affairs, and an ideas guy who loves America and deeply religious.

and the heads of major executive departments.

Attorney General - Rudy Guilliani - With the naming of Guilliani, there would be a general plan to kick butt and take names on congress involved in the financial ills of the sub-prime lending debacle that led to the meltdown on Wall Street.

Treasury - Mitt Romney - With his background in business and turning around the Olympics, he would be great.

State - Joe Liberman - A hold over from McCain’s Cabinet suggestions. He would be a great leader in the War on Terror, and a friend to our friend, Isreal.

Commerce - Meg Whitman - CEO of Ebay.  Would bring commerce into the 21st century.

Housing and Urban Development - Phil Gramm - The Senator who wrote the legislation that John McCain co-sponsored reigning in Fanny and Freddie.

Defense - General Petreus - He could command the whole effort of the global war on terror.  With his knowledge and experience in winning the war in Iraq, he would be the logical choice.

Energy - T Boone Pickens, the energy guru, and along with Sarah’s already extensive knowledge of energy, we could come into the 21st century here as well.

Education - Fred Thompson - A no nonsense guy who could go in and take charge of the Teachers Unions.

Health and Human Services - Pick someone who ran something important in the Medical industry, say the head of a Pharmaceutical company, or Medtronic or another top person.

Homeland Security - Robert Gates.  He’s done well as Defense Secretary, and would do well to add efficiency and economies of scale to the defense of the US.  George Bush has kept us safe since September 11th, 2001, and this will be his lasting legacy.  As Del Gue said in Jeramiah Johnson, “You’ve done well to keep so much hair, when so many’s after it”.

Secretary of Agriculture - Ed Shafer has done a great job, and I am sure she could convince him to stay on.

Veterans Affairs - Tommy Franks - Another no nonsense guy who would fight for the Vet’s getting what they deserve for medical treatment when they get home, and for their families getting compensated if they should lose them in battle.

After naming these key individuals, Sarah Palin would come out hard against Barak Obama and let the people know that he is the most liberal Senator in the US, including Socialist Bernie Sanders at number 2, and Joe Biden at number 3.  It would be hard to pick a more liberal ticket if you tried.

She could also attack Obama on his opposition of the ‘Born Alive Infant Protection Act’, and his lack of support for funding the troops in Iraq.

All in all, losing John McCain in the midst of the Presidential race would be a tragedy, but the silver lining would be if his legacy could sweep Sarah Palin into the White House, and bring enough of a sympathy vote, and want of real change to shift the Congress and Senate as well.

Her Campaign motto could be ‘In memory of John McCain, let’s Throw the Bums out’!!

Come on Gman, I know if you tried a little harder, I’m sure you could fill all those positions with serial adulterers, not just a few.

Have a go at it and get back to us.

Excuse me, you were saying?

Oh, by the way, who ever said you were a republican?

There are very few republicans left anyway.

We all know that Sarah “I violate public trust” Palin isn’t.

Excuse me, you were saying?

G-man....

What has plagued the GOP and conservatives since the summer of 2007, is their inability to unite behind one [or any] candidiate - including John McCain, the republican nominee. Your posted essay is more of the same.

If SAB is any indication, we are a collection of fiscal conservatives, social conservatives, constitutional conservatives, libertarian conservatives and so-called neo-cons, all at each other’s throats while simultaneously trying to prevent the election of Barack Obama.

Meanwhile, the left has set aside their differences in the expectation that unity - even if only on the surface - will bring their candidate victory.

I am reminded of Lincoln’s admonition: “A house divided against itself cannot stand.”

The times, they are a-changin’...

I have been and always will be a conservative in politics and in life.  What I can’t stand about McCain is all the while he is reaching across the aisle, he has his back to the very people who have made his career what it is.  The conservatives were what made this country great, and if they would be able to enact the spending reductions that are the cornerstone of conservatism, and get the socialistic tendencies out of our government, it would work very well.  As Ronald Reagan said, “The Government that works the best, governs the least.” While the Republicans are RINO’s, I support them only to get closer to what they really should be.

There is no way that I could support Obama, or any other democrat.

I support John McCain this election only because he is the option who will get me closer to an ideal candidate.

My issues are as follows:

Lower spending to what the Government is supposed to do.  National defense, international relations, infrastructure and interstate commerce.  Nothing else!!

Lower Taxes.  A flat rate or VAT tax at as low as possible rate to support the above.

Get the government out of all else, and let the markets determine it… Let everyone build there own retirement, health care savings accounts that are tax sheltered, and even schools.  The companies should support education to get what they need in employee’s.

Term limits should be imposed at 12 years max for Senators and Representatives, and 8 years for President.  If you can’t get it done in that amount of time, move over and let someone else try.

As William F. Buckley said, “I would rather be governed by the first 535 members of the Boston Telephone directory than the current makeup of the Legislative branch.”

The bottom line is that I have not left the Republican Party, they have ‘LEFT’ me.

I will vote for them with my hand firmly grasped on my nose, but I will fight for, with my money and my time, true conservatives who will govern under the principals that the least is the most!!!!!

OM software provides organization to a series of tasks that are interdependent. That series of tasks includes receiving orders, billing, shipping label creation, shipment pickup scheduling, accounting, inventory control and others. These tasks introduce, in the ecommerce business, a difficulty factor and a plethora of details that can sink even the most determined entrepreneur. The decision to streamline those tasks is related to the pain threshold of the business owner and to the need to improve the bottom line. That pain threshold is usually about six pieces of shipping each day. Learn more with List Easy
