What was the original punchline?
The last panel is clearly lettered by someone other than Mr. Parker.
I see that the GOP wants to reinstate means tests and poll taxes.
I see that the GOP wants to reinstate means tests and poll taxes.
The GOP never instituted poll taxes.
But the Democratic party, the party of Jefferson Davis, Jim Crow, Bull Connor and Robert Byrd, sure did.

You’re talking about the past. I’m talking about the future. And THAT is one of the main differences between liberals like me and dead-enders like you.
And a pretty shameful past it is, too.
Ken,
With all due respect, you left out Orville Faubus and Lester Maddox, two of the Democrats’ more “colorful” governors and civil rights proponents.
“Poverty of goods is easily cured; poverty of the mind is irreparable.”
Anything that keeps Jack from voting twice is a “means test” or a “poll tax”.
[Feet make good soup!]
Jack - I see that the GOP wants to reinstate means tests and poll taxes.
Where do you see that at?
I see that bullshitting is your weapon here. Maybe the “dead-ender” is you?
The GOP does want one means test that Jack and other dead-ender liberals don’t want - verified citizenship.
They absolutely fear that means test.
It tells you a lot about what side they’re on (hint: it’s not America’s).
Jack: It is humor, something liberals cannot understand!
No matter the age or state of health, for a military man it is always glorious to tilt at windmills, rescue a fair Dulcinea and be a gallant knight in armor in a glorious cause.
You’re talking about the past. I’m talking about the future. And THAT is one of the main differences between liberals like me and dead-enders like you.
Jack: Trouble me not with facts. I have no place for them!
For the first time in my adult life, I am ashamed of my country.
