Vladimir Putin set to bait US with nuclear aid for Tehran

How long will it take before folks realize that there is a lot of truth to the age-old saying that violence begets violence? With it now obvious that there was U.S. complicity in the war in Georgia, it does not take a genius to realize that this mess could get real ugly.

With Russia angry over U.S. efforts to expand Nato eastwards, they now are thinking of a few responses, one of which is increasing nuclear assistance to Iran.

Said a western diplomat: “After the war in Georgia it’s difficult to imagine relations between Russia and America getting worse, Russia giving greater nuclear assistance to the Iranians would do the trick– that’s for sure.”

How many days before Bush/Cheney are gone? Do we really want more of McCsame?

Joke- A group of college Republicans at the RNC had a contest drinking shots of whiskey. “let’s all take a shot everytime one of the speakers mentions Bush’s or Cheney’s name, said one.” At the end of the night they all left the convention completely sober. Ha!!!!!

Davinski,

Its a simple enough question really - simple enough even for you:

What is your candidate, Barack Obama, prepared to do to ensure that Iran, which has sworn to destroy Israel, does not acquire nuclear weapons… weapons banned by the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, and implicitly by UN?

Are those of you on the Left willing to allow Iran’s acquisition of nukes, and if not, what are you prepared to do?

There is a pattern of you blaming America for the actions of others.

This kind of talk shows us that you’re not a serious person.

They only want to talk without preconditions. Anything else would be dismissed under the rubric of “violence begets violence”.

These people don’t understand that madmen such as Putin don’t understand anything other than violence and/or the projection of force.

They gave Reagan hell for being a “warmonger”. Remember how history wrapped up on that one? Those of us on the right do while those on the left, Davinski among them, have forgotten the lessons of that part of history.

I don’t think it is that simple a question.  The real question is what policies have led us to this point and who is most likely to continue them?

Not destroying the Soviet Union while we had the 15 year chance.

Not turning Iran into green glass.

You don’t like those answers. You would rather talk endlessly to evil, rather than kill it.

Those are at least answers and I hope McCain runs on them.

As do I.

But he won’t.

On destroying the Soviet Union (I won’t call it Russia anymore), we should have immediately moved in after the dissolution of the old Soviet empire, 1991, and got out all of the nuclear weapons when they were asking for that help in the early 90’s. We gave them some help in this area and dithered on the rest because of cost. We should have also sent in tons of diplomats, movers and shakers, and influence peddlers. We didn’t. We instead took a hands off approach and let them find their own way rather than guiding them towards a democratic approach.

I bet you thought I meant destroy them military, didn’t you?

When did Russia ask us to remove their nuclear weapons?  It is true that we should have done more to engage Russia as an ally including either letting them in NATO or allowing no former Soviet state into NATO or just dissolving NATO as no longer necessary to fight the Soviet Union.  But instead we came up with the antagonistic policy of moving NATO to the Russian border.

My brainfart there.

They only asked us to remove the nuclear weapons out of their old Soviet satellites, for obvious self serving reasons.

ISRAEL WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE BY NEMESIS
Judeofascist Israel, being of negative net military and economic value to America, England, France, Russia, and China risks surprise retaliatory nuclear annihilation by Russia and China, if it initiates total war on any of its wealthy Middle Eastern neighbors, such as Iran, who are immensely valuable for their cultural contributions and great wealth in oil.  And, by popular agreement of the United Nations of the World, the World would be happier and safer with Israel transformed into star dust in Holocaust III.
Israel’s net negative value is derived from its arsenal of 150 nuclear missiles, and notorious Marxist practice of systematically inciting people to hate and kill one another, nationally and inter-nationally, over cunningly fabricated irreconcilable economic or religious differences. Familiar historical examples are the catastrophically disastrous Russian, German, and Spanish Marxist revolutions; and most recently, the American unprovoked illegal bombing and occupation of Iraq, which sacrificed over a trillion dollars and 4,000 lives for the sole benefit of Israel.
Now, Israel and its supporting Diaspora are notoriously engaged in fanatically desperate propaganda efforts to provoke total war between the patriotic Christian American and Muslim Iranian peoples.  But they are failing to incite enough fear and hatred to start a war, because of increasingly popular recognition that they are the common enemy of Iran and these nuclear superpowers.
The Israeli People, from their long exposure to European democratic and Christian culture, know perfectly well the moral and ethical rules that they must inevitably follow to secure their own survival.  Every injustice that they have committed against their neighbors, in killing innocent civilians and robbing them of their infrastructure and land, must be fully addressed with apologies and monetary compensation.  All of the incessant wailing, ranting, propaganda, extortion, and bribery by the universally condemned People of Israel are to no avail.  Inevitably, Nemesis shall have her just retribution upon Israel, dead or alive.

I believe part of the problem with the left’s approach to the world is that they confuse peace with freedom. Peace as defined as an absence of war. The people of the old Soviet Union had “peace” didn’t they? Who wanted to live like them?
We in the US, on the other hand, have always had freedom, but we have had to fight various wars to secure it. In the end we have always prevailed, at some cost to us in blood and treasure, and are better off for it. So is it true that violence begets violence? Maybe for the belligerent factions, huh? But for free people it is the only way to keep and ensure freedom. So why don’t you leftards leave the driving to the adults and shut the fuck up?

Good old boy. Peace and freedom are not synonymous. Why are you trying to compare the two?
While we enjoyed freedom we supported various dictators that trampled on peoples freedoms. Hell we still do support dictators.

Reading and comprehension my child. I do not for one minute conflate the two. I believe the left does. When you decry the need to bitch-slap a beligerent party once in a while, you are showing to all the world that you do not understand the human condition. When Davinski deplores war, he ignores this: Peace is not the natural condition of the human race- war is. And in saying that, I do not glorify it or condone it. I am merely recognizing the way it is. O’Bama can talk ‘til he is blue in the face to our enemies (and make no mistake Mr. Bush, Russia is still an enemy), that will accomplish nothing. Try talking a mugger out of stealing your wallet sometime, see what it gets you. Thugs only understand superior force. always have, always will.
As far as your comment regarding dictators, sometimes we have had to choose the lesser of two evils, have we not? At the end of the day, America has to look out for her interests, too, does she not?

Good Ol Boy on September 7, 2008 at 08:56 pm

Bullies only talk nice when they are on the ropes.

If the Soviets want to come into our back yard in the form of naval maneuvers with Chavezs’ Venezuela and supercharge the Psycho-Jihadists in Iran with nukes, we should divert all those post-Soviet captured weapons to those in Russia and former SSR’s who don’t want to go back to the old ways and disrupt Putin’s home turf.

That would require several vital components:

1) a strong and determined US Executive willing to carry out and support unconventional warfare against Russia, in exactly the same manner they fomented insurrections in Third World countries and Marxist terrorism in Western countries during the Cold War;

2) that the US intel community had spent the post 1989 years establishing connections in the old Bloc countries, as well as in the Sovyetskaya Soyyuzem itself; and

3) not cut the freedom fighters loose once the MVD troops close in.

Is it gonna happen?

Realistically… no. Although it’s nice to think of millions of Wolverines messing with Soviet plans on their own home ground.

...for great justice

davi, Russia has been working with Iran on their nuclear program for quite some time. Perhaps you should get a clue.

I heard Chavez just did a big deal with the Japanese for oil (I don’t know if its in the press yet). Ouch. That must get you free market types all heated. Also, speaking of supercharging the Jihadists, lets stop doing that before we admonish others for it. We sell massive amounts of arms to Saudi Arabia and support Jundullah, not to mention that the MEK, the jihadist version of Heaven’s Gate, are the neo-cons little pet jihadists.

Selective in our admonishing of others, aren’t we.
