Unbutton the Beast: It is the fly of Levi’s Jeans

Levi’s jeans ad called ‘raunchy’
‘Paul the Pincher’ jumps out of fly

Those old-fashioned button-fly jeans made by Levi Strauss Co. are being promoted in a new, sexually suggestive ad campaign called “Unbutton Your Beast.”

“Your worst guess on what the ‘beast’ is supposed to represent would likely be correct,” wrote Marian Ward today on the website for Concerned Women for America, the nation’s largest women’s public policy organization.

“I had trouble wrapping my brain around the research and development meeting where this idea was pitched – and why no one said, ‘You’ve got to be kidding!’” she wrote.

On the BrandWeek website, Elena Malykhina and Steve Miller called it, “bold, risqué and quirky” and said it already is raising eyebrows.

You don’t have to guess what the “beast is!”

It’s obscene and no one here will object to it!

Unbutton the Beast: It is the fly of Levi’s Jeans

Heh. I thought you were talking about Palin’s daughter’s soon-to-be bastard kid’s father. Too many ‘Levis’ in the news. On his myspace page, ‘Levi’ said he didn’t want any kids.

How sad.

BTW, that website is pretty juvenile. Guaranteed to get a rise out of the repressed religious folk. Thanks for providing them a link Neiman, you sinful heretic.

Sparkie: Please take some advice, take your head out of your ass, you won’t have such a crappy outlook on life.

Hmm, Levi Staus used to be a 7 billion dollar company.  Wise marketing decisions like this has taken them to a a 4 billion dollar company.

They’ve only managed to save themselves by 1)closing all of its US factories (well everyone’s doing it) and 2)trashing their image by going to bed with Walmart.

Look at them to hang on, but they’ll never be preeminent like the old days.

What’s going to happen to US industry when the global warming extremists like John McCain double the price of electricity?  I would think all these factories will close and set up in countries where they aren’t scared of technology.

Well I consider it interesting that Levi’s used to be going for a boutique strategy of having their own stores in pretty fancy surroundings.

Then tastes changed and while they aren’t in Kamapart they are in bed with Walmart.

I thought about leaving it alone, but it occured to me that people should be aware of how low our advertising has sunk in recent years. I apologize if it offended anyone, I just thought it was an important story about the decline of the West.

So, if the CEO of a major company was guilty odf raping little boys, if I speak out against the child rapes I am anti-free market? Hmmm! I felt this company engaged in obscene advertising to move their products, I speak out againt the obscene nature of the ad and that makes me anti-free market? You have a twisted view of the world!

and you wonder why people think you religious types are suspect.

Suspect of what? I know complete thoughts are hard through your drug muddled mind, but try finishing a sentence once in a while!
