Unbelieveable

WorldNetDaily provides evidence that Obama campaign staff placed campaign posters at the Western Wall, the most holy site in Judiasm.  (it’s the remaining foundation of the third Temple built by Herod)

Innocent explanation?  Difficult, as the stop was unannounced--it’s extremely unlikely that anyone not in the campaign could have done this.

First the Brandenburger Tor, then the Siegessaule, now the Western Wall.  Can you say “megalomania”, boys and girls?  God only knows what Obama would have done had the Temple been rebuilt.

Careful.  The last thing we need is a bunch of new evangelicals alleging Obama is the antichrist.

HG: I don’t think he qualifies at all according to Scripture, but can’t he be a type? Can’t someone like him help condition people that when the real thing comes along he will be more easily accepted? Isn’t the spirit of anti-Christ operating through many people, without their being possessed by him?

Neiman,

The obsession with the antichrist among new evangelicals is the issue I’m alluding to. If you wan to get “doctrinal”, the antichrist will not be revealed until believers are gone.  Believers are given Christ’s return to look forward to, not the antichrist, not even signs and wonders.  To answer your question, yes, the spirit of antichrist has been around since the first century.

HG, point well taken.

HG: You and I will never agree about your over-eagerness to Christian bash or maybe it is evangelical bash and generalize and side with non-Christians so often and so easily.

While I agree with much that you said in your last comments, I am not aware of any obsession (the uncontrollable persistence of an idea or emotion in the mind, sometimes associated with a psychiatric disorder) among evangelicals regarding the anti-Christ, I am sure there is a natural interest in the subject to be sure; but being aware of the activities of the enemy of our souls (you may not believe in that either) and seeing the signs of the times unfolding is not something I find either odd or extreme in the least.

You carefully avoided my reference to the fact some men can be types, they seem to fit that description in many ways, without being the actual anti-Christ. We will see many false Messiah’s (Christ’s) appear as signs that we are in that season of God’s dealings with humanity and that too is something I find quite natural for Christians to be fascinated to observe and talk about.

Evangelicals are authentic Christians and while I have absolutely no idea what these neo-evangelicals are that you disparage (refer to disapprovingly or contemptuously), while they might go overboard, if I were you I would hesitate in trying to paint them as mad extremists that deserve your contempt and your ridicule among people that naturally hate them anyway.

Neiman,

You read way too much into my comments.

Neiman,

Didn’t you ever see the ‘God Warrior’ on that episode of ‘Wife-Swap’.

You read way too much into my comments.

I don’t think so at all! I am familiar with your many attacks on evangelical leaders and the evangelistic movement, as well as your tendency to join with enemies of the church in speaking against the Church. So, I think I am on safe ground!

I just don’t understand that your first instinct, absent any warrant in the post, was to attack evangelicals.

Didn’t you ever see the ‘God Warrior’ on that episode of ‘Wife-Swap’.

No, I don’t consider myself a natural enemy of other Christians and I try to be charitable about their shortcomings as I want them to be charitable about my many shortcomings.

Where are the “separation of church and state” leftists?

Where are the “he’s trying to usher in a theocracy” leftists?

Is Barack Obama so different that the normal rules, as spelled out by those who call themselves “liberals”, do not apply?

Why the double standard?

likwidshoe on July 24, 2008 at 04:51 pm

HG: I am simply not interested in this, I don’t know what you are selling or why; but I prefer to show charity to my brothers and sisters in Christ and not hold them up to public ridicule or contempt as seems to be your preference. If I have anything against particular ministers or ministries, and I surely do; I leave it to prayer and God rather than judge them publicly and encourage others to heap contempt upon them.

I knew an evangelist with quite effeminate manners, a showman’s style and a silly fixation on cigarettes that would not allow him to pray for anyone unless they pledged to stop smoking then and there. I thought this guy was bad for the faith and should not be on television; until one day I sensed the correction of the Spirit telling me that there were certain people this man could reach for the Gospel that no one else could reach and I was not to judge him, but leave God’s servants in God’s hands. Unfortunately, I think you take the oposite view!

Is Barack Obama so different that the normal rules, as spelled out by those who call themselves “liberals”, do not apply?

In a desire to take back the White House and power over the masses, liberals choose; that is, they make a deliberate choice not to measure Obama by the same standard of measure applied to mere mortals. Why? They fear his lack of experience, credentials and intellect might be exposed and their candidate might suffer. So, it is circle the wagons at any cost to win, for winning is everything!

Neiman,

I thought you might get a laugh at the drama that passes for christianity these days in light of the definition you offered.

HG;

I thought you might get a laugh at the drama that passes for christianity these days in light of the definition you offered.

That is because, IMO, of your extreme disdain for evangelical Christianity as a whole and your not wanting to miss any opportunity to ridicule evangelicals even if that means teaming up with atheists and other to attack fellow Christians.

Nieman,

I guess we could explore why I don’t attack you even when given opportunity, but I’m off to football practice.  Have a good evening.

HG: YOu may attack me all you please, I am an evangelical Christian, fair game to you!
