Tis the season for giving

Christmas Spirit, it’s my favorite.

December is by far my favorite month. The fact it’s my birth month actually has little to do with this. Since I was a kid, the focus of Christmas has drastically changed for me. It used to be about Santa and presents and long holidays. Now it’s about family, celebration and giving.

Christmas shopping, per say, isn’t my favorite. But I really enjoy bringing home gifts from a shopping excursion and wrapping them up for their recipients. Then I enjoy taunting them.

“I wonder what this is, hmmm? I bet it’s really cool. You wanna know doncha? Gotta wait.”

Good times.

So, FIU [and Say Anything] readers, what are the greatest gifts you’ve ever given or received. I’m not looking for sentimental stuff here (but it’s welcome, of course) just items you’ve given or received that left a lasting impression.

And what are some good gift ideas, in general, for significant others, family members, friends, etc?

P.S. - FIU wishes you a very Merry Christmas!

Last year I bought the family a larger TV set.  I wrapped it and put it under the tree from “the dogs”.

The kids were amazed that the dogs could go shopping on their own.

My daughter was explaining it to the kids in her class.  When the kids asked how the dogs could do that she replied “Santa must have helped.”

What’s going to happen to US industry when the global warming extremists like John McCain double the price of electricity?  I would think all these factories will close and set up in countries where they aren’t scared of technology.

Well this year Christmas came early. My fiancee and I braved the 5 am Black Friday Best Buy crowd to get a GPS navigation system for like half the normal price. Best gift we ever bought for ourselves.
