The Way Out (we have all been here before)
When the founders signed their own death warrants and put their names on The Declaration of Independence…you could say that what followed was not something anyone could foresee.
That’s where we are now. It’s a historic moment but who can say how this plays out over the next many years? I’ve read lots on this mess and many of the authors make perfect sense while reaching entirely different conclusions.
So my take is to heed what FDR told our nation after taking office in 1933 when we were in a true depression and not just a “maybe” one:
“We will try new things…if they don’t work, we’ll try more new things..and we’ll keep doing this until we find out what works. That’s my promise to you. I ask in return your patience, your prayers and your faith in our great country’s ability to solve any problem when we act together for the common good.”
(the above FDR quote is my fictionalized version of what in fact became a series of federal economic and social initiatives that came to be called THE NEW DEAL…. and it’s the approach I expect to see played out again)
We can start by drilling here, drilling now and pushing the obstructionists enviroloons outta the way as America regains energy independence. That is priority #1 because it’s a national security imperative.
