The Other Shoe Drops: APA - Don’t Try to Heal Gays
Does this come as any surprise?
To the uninitiated, it might. Having a name like the APA come down definitively on one side of the issue seems to be a debate-ending move. Then again, as will be touched on, the APA quit doing science a long time ago. It has been taken over by Homosexual activists and its findings and public announcements are by now highly suspect.
Psychologists repudiate gay-to-straight therapy
NEW YORK – The American Psychological Association declared Wednesday that mental health professionals should not tell gay clients they can become straight through therapy or other treatments.
Instead, the APA urged therapists to consider multiple options — that could range from celibacy to switching churches — for helping clients whose sexual orientation and religious faith conflict.
In a resolution adopted on a 125-to-4 vote by the APA’s governing council, and in a comprehensive report based on two years of research, the 150,000-member association put itself firmly on record in opposition of so-called “reparative therapy” which seeks to change sexual orientation.
No solid evidence exists that such change is likely, says the report, and some research suggests that efforts to produce change could be harmful, inducing depression and suicidal tendencies.
The APA had criticized reparative therapy in the past, but a six-member task force added weight to this position by examining 83 studies on sexual orientation change conducted since 1960. Its comprehensive report was endorsed by the APA’s governing council in Toronto, where the association’s annual meeting is being held this weekend.
TAKEOVER AT THE APA
By a vote of its House of Delegates, the American Psychiatric Association removed homosexuality from its list of disordered conditions in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, the bible of the profession. The change came about not because of new research. Scientists had made no groundbreaking discoveries. No, the change because of a political coup engineered by homosexual activists, a process documented by pro-gay writer Ronald Bayer.18
Dr. Charles Socarides, a practicing psychiatrist who witnessed events at APA conventions, including threats of violence by homosexual activists, said, “The APA could only take the action it did by disregarding and dismissing hundreds of psychiatric and psychoanalytic research papers and reports that had been done on homosexuality over the previous two decades.”19
In 1974, the American Psychological Association followed suit under similar conditions. Meanwhile, under pressure from homosexual activists, states had already begun dropping laws against sodomy, thus paving the way for the free-wheeling, promiscuous “gay” scene that homosexual writer Randy Shilts chronicled as the prelude to the AIDS epidemic of the 1980s.20
Shortly thereafter, the term “sexual preference” began to give way to “sexual orientation” in homosexual publications and then in the psychiatric and psychological literature. In fact, it began to turn up everywhere, from magazines to school policy proposals. A seemingly innocuous phrase to describe everybody’s sexual roadmap, “sexual orientation” is much more than that. The preceding historical overview was intended to show that the term did not appear in a vacuum but was instead a key and deliberate step in an unfolding process of securing social, political and economic support for homosexuality.

But what do the actual studies say? Not the politicized, homosexual activist controlled propaganda, mind you, but the science on the ground?

The APA is lobbying to have homosexuals declared “a protected minority.” It engages in intimidation and propaganda. It threatened with boycotts “states whose citizens passed APA disapproved laws regarding homosexuality. It has supported efforts to introduce programs into the public schools to “reduce prejudice” aimed at so-called “gay, lesbian and bisexual youth” or “prehomosexual” children.” “American Psychology: The Political Science”
Does this sound like “tolerance” to you? The APA is vehemently against “conversion therapy” because they can’t have homosexuals reverting to heterosexuality. That implies there is something wrong with homosexuality!

The seven-member panel that spearheaded the American Psychological Association’s controversial endorsement of homosexual “marriage” consists of “gay activists,” according to one organization – including the deaf lesbian who incited a national firestorm of protest when she and her lesbian partner, also deaf, used artificial insemination to intentionally produce deaf children.

Explaining the APA’s resolution blessing same-sex marriage, NARTH president Dr. Joseph Nicolosi said the psychologist organization has “let political activists take over the APA in this particular area, and these activists are giving us their own, values-laden ‘take’ on the issues.”

Eight years ago a man I’ll call Jim walked into a psychologist’s office. He wanted help overcoming homosexual desires, which were causing intense emotional distress. Today Jim is happily married and the father of two children.
But if the American Psychological Association has its way, men like Jim won’t be able to find a therapist to help them.
Last month the American Psychological Association (APA) passed a resolution declaring that “reparative therapy” is unethical, and that therapists should not attempt it. The ruling calls for psychologists to tell their clients that homosexuality is not an illness, that reparative therapy may harm them, and that there’s no evidence that it works. If therapists refuse to do this, they will be censured by the APA.
In effect, the Christian view of homosexuality has been pronounced unprofessional and unethical.

These are only a few cases of the mass media’s official suppression of the widely known fact that the vast majority of sexual abusers are homosexuals. Cokie, Sam and their media accomplices are enforcing censorship that echoes memories of Soviet Russia or Nazi Germany.
Some of you are engineers, some programmers and others scientists. You should know, better than anyone, that when politics overrules science, the result can no longer be called science. The APA will do what it will do, but let it be known that they have no legitimate claim to being unbiased scientists.
They are, in fact, homosexuals who have taken over what was once a science-based institution. Nothing more and nothing less.
