The man-made hole in what?

Yet another apostasy uttered from within the Temple Of The Goreacle.

This has got to be pissing Algore off. He has decreed that all debate and research concerning “global climate change” is over.

These guys can expect a lump of coal upside they heads come Goremas season.

This is the money shot."The scientists said the source of the halogens is natural”. That has got to be pissing Algore right off.

Wow, your ignorance of the science never ceases to astound me.

While you might look like a shrewd dude to the rest of the choir here, to anybody who actually understands the science, you show yourself to be totally uneducated.

Lestat, can you point us to the science which prices definitively that global warming is, in fact, anthropomorphic and not the result of global warming and cooling trends that have been taking place naturally on this planet for millenia?

Just curious.  I’d be interested in reviewing it.

Okay, wise ass, what qualifies you to make that sort of wild accusation?  Show us your credentials....

Yes, lestupid, lets us hear it. We await your pronouncement of the absolute proof of Human Caused Global Climate Change with bated breath.

You don’t understand the relationship of ozone to global warming.  It ddoesn’t prove your point.

It is clear you don’t understand the science.

Lestat on July 27, 2007 at 11:13 pm

Then enlighten us. And explain how human industrial/agricultural activity is raising the baseline temps of all objects we are observing in the inner Solar System. Is my Toyota 4Runner causing Venus to get hotter? Prove it.

And spare us the IPCC fishwrap. It is as full of holes as a termite nest. Speaking of termites, any suggestions on how to eliminate THEIR “greenhouse gas” emissions? Of which there are 12 times the amount, per day, according to human caused global climate change scientists, than all human industrial/agricultural emissions combined?

And lets us not be leaving out volcanoes. Currently there are 168 major eruptive events worldwide. Producing far more “greenhouse gas” emissions than the human race could ever emit, even if we tried.

And the oceans! Don’t be dissing them. They are co-number 1 in producing climate variance, along with the Sun. What is your big plan to shutoff all these massive sources of “greenhouse gas”? Lets us hear it!

Just like you have never proven that you know anything about science and climatology.

Lestat - instead of spending all of your time telling others that they don’t “understand the science”, why don’t you inform?

Ozone is not a greenhouse gas; therefore, the whole point of this point makes no sense.

Ozone is not a greenhouse gas; therefore, the whole point of this point makes no sense.

...to people who were born yesterday! Those of us who have been around for awhile (or have been paying attention) know that the growing “ozone hole” was the cause célèbre du jour for liberal fearmongers during the presidency of Bush I. “The hole in the ozone over Kennebunkport” is how good liberals described it then, trying to blame Republicans then as now.
The point, oh obtuse one, is that fearmongering is not a new phenomenon. As soon as the current “Oh, God! Oh, God! We’re all going to die!” scare is proven wrong (again), the enviroweenies will simply gravitate to a new one!

Lestat - Ozone is not a greenhouse gas...

Who said that it was? Can you point it out?

...the whole point of this point makes no sense.

That was your point.

Lestat, it is clear that you don’t understand simple English. You were the ignorant one. It would behoove you to next time pay better attention to what was actually said.

likwidshoe on July 29, 2007 at 01:54 am

lestupid, your scientists, the ones screeching that human are evil and destroying the Earth, say that ozone IS a “greenhouse gas”. So, rather obviously, you do not know the “science”.

So, a quiz. One you should be able to crib the answers from google for. What are the atomic weights of “ozone”, carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, and oxygen? And which of these rise in an atmospheric medium and which sink? And lets throw freon into the mix, when you cut the lines on a refrigerator or AC does that gas rise, or does it sink?

lestupid, your scientists, the ones screeching that human are evil and destroying the Earth, say that ozone IS a “greenhouse gas”.

Can we get back to the topic?

LONDON, July 26 (Xinhua)—British scientists have discovered large quantities of ozone-depleting chemicals in the Antarctic atmosphere.
...
The scientists said the source of the halogens is natural—sea-salt in the case of bromine, and in the case of iodine, almost certainly bright orange algae that coat the underside of the sea ice around the continent.

Al Gore, the UN, and various other far-left big government loving lefties have declared the “Global Warming” debate to be over. Now we find evidence that the hole in the ozone, which greatly affects world wide climate and is sort of an unknown entity in terms of how much it affects global climate, is natural.

So the debate is far from over. We still don’t have many of the bigger pieces of information.

THAT was the point.

Lestat kept on going on about how ignorant everybody else is, when in fact it was he who was ignorant as to what the point was. The point is NOT whether or not ozone is a “greenhouse gas”. The point is that the debate about anthropogenic global warming is not over. Lestat might “understand the science”, but he has shown an inability to follow simple conversations.

likwidshoe on July 29, 2007 at 04:59 am

Oh, yea. The “point” of the story is HALOGEN, not ozone, lestupid. Actually reading the article linked would also help. And you can specific search the scientists names and see their past work. It is called the I-N-T-E-R-N-E-T. You should familiarize yourself with it.
