The Government’s In the Wrong Business

We also have disasters flaming in just about every facet of our country. Education, banking, illegal immigration, energy, home ownership, inflation, and employment are all on the ropes. Solving the energy crisis will be a big step but it will not put out the fire.

The reason that we have all of these disasters occurring at the same time that we have a war going on is because, a little over 150 years ago, the government got out of the protection business, which it was designed for and had the skills to be in, and into the regulation business where it had no knowledge or skill. As a result, it had to count on people to tell it what to do and became immediately susceptible to pressure from special interests who were soon running the country. It took a while for them to completely take over, but as soon as they did, we began to see the effects. Since they were skilled in industry and other specialties, but not government, everything started going downhill requiring more and more regulation in order to patch things up. The massive number of regulations eventually became unmanageable and hard to keep track of to make sure that one regulation didn’t have an adverse effect on another.

The bureaucrats are like alcoholics. The only thing that makes an alcoholic feel good is another drink no matter how harmful it is to him. The only thing that makes a bureaucrat feel better is another regulation no matter how much harm it causes.

Alcoholics and bureaucrats have to be removed from the source of their pain in order for things to get better.

In this case, the bureaucrats will have to be removed from the illegal power that they can’t resist to pass regulations. You don’t have to take a lot of your time away from your efforts to solve your favorite crisis. You only have to vote in the fall for those who don’t want to regulate.

By removing the fuel from the fire, it will start to die out.
