The Blow Hards big mouth finally gets him in trouble
Seems as if Ed got into a verbal altercation this past weekend.
Local and national radio talk show host Ed Schultz spent 45 minutes of his local show this morning defending his actions in a weekend altercation at Hotel Shoreham along Lake Sallie near Detroit Lakes, Minn.
Schultz said a man approached him inside the hotel bar and wanted to talk about their differing political views and the war in Iraq.
“The Ed Schultz Show” is a liberal national talk show.Schultz, who was with his wife, Wendy, said the man and a woman with him would not end the conversation despite Schultz’s attempts to do so. He said everyone involved had been drinking.
“Finally, I put my beer on the bar and put my finger in his face,” Schultz told listeners to KFGO’s “News and Views” morning radio show. “I told the guy, ‘I didn’t come here for this.’”
Schultz said the woman with the man also addressed his wife with profanity.
“If someone comes up to you in public and calls your wife (references to expletives), what are you going to do?”
Schultz said he engaged in harmless shoving with the man. He said he knew if he hit the man, he could be arrested, and that could sink his professional career.
“That’s in my contract. I can’t be arrested,” Schultz said. “Am I now the target? I’m against the war. I think Bush is a fraud.”
Becker County Sheriff Tim Gordon said his office has no report on the incident. Rick Lynch, owner of Hotel Shoreham, said authorities weren’t called. “It’s not worth commenting on,” he said.Schultz said on the air this morning he felt he must share his side of the story after a reporter from The Forum inquired Tuesday night about the incident.
Schultz said he later learned the woman with the man has a daughter in Iraq.
“I feel sorry for them,” he said.
Schultz addressed the weekend altercation on his Tuesday national show, and played a clip from that portion.
“This has not happened to me for years, but it did happen to me this weekend,” Schultz told his national audience, referring to the incident as a “bar shuffle” and a “bouncer call.”
“I totally broke my rule,” he said. “I don’t engage in political talk on personal time.”
Here is the deal; many people think that Schultz is a fraud and basically is in favor of what ever is best for ED. The man is a cry baby with a micro phone. Personally I despise the man because he is such a shill and a lighting rod. Also, many of us are sick and tired of listening to him whine about how he is being screwed by the people in the radio business. If only he was on more radio stations he might be as big as Sean Hannity or Rush Limbaugh, yeah right, dream on. So it’s no mystery that Schultz has been a mouth piece for the fairness doctrine. Of course this will probably benefit him because the radio station he is on has gone broke what? Two times, if my memory serves me right.
Let’s break this down further; first Schultz is the voice of the NDSU Bison, then UND offered him a bunch of money and he was the mouth piece for the Sioux, I don’t know how people can change their allegiances so fast? I remember out hunting one time and my brother turns to me and says, “who the hell is this clown?” I said to my brother, “its liberal talk show host from Fargo Ed the blow hard Schultz.” My brother turned it off and said I can’t listen to this clown anymore, he is horrible.
Seriously, I remember when Bush got elected and Bush came to Fargo or where ever Ed was doing the radio remote, Schultz was on the radio with Scott Hennen signing Bushes praises and then on the flip of a dime we are to believe that Schultz is now a liberal democrat. Seriously, when is Schultz going to go the Libertitarin route? That in my opinion folks is a man that will change his principles on a dime. This just proves that what you say on the air has consequences, you can’t just go around maligning people or causes without being call out on it.
Should we say that finally someone had challenged big Eddy on his views and doesn’t like it when someone challenges him out side of the controlled environment of the radio booth?
