The Art Of Blaming Bush

So, North Korea’s Fearless Leader (or was that the guy from Rocky and Bullwinkle?) has decided to piss off the entire world, even those who kind of liked, or at least tolerated him before. He detonated a nuke he built from the plutonium extracted from the reactors Slick Willie (I love that nickname and all it’s connotations) sold him back in the nineties. And at least half of our government know exactly who is to blame. Clinton? Kim Jong Il? Don't be ridiculous.

Bush, of course.

The democrats and their accompanying hordes of screaming banshee lefties have finally decided that they can, with the aid of the Main Stream Media, blame Bush for, well...everything. A short list follows.

Global warming. Forget that whole Industrial Revolution thing and all the crap that’s been dumped into our atmosphere since the very first factories, smoke belching steam locomotives and river boats and such. It’s Bush’s fault. He dunnit in the short five years he’s been in office. He created the whole globalwarming/climate change horror that is now bringing us to the brink of doom. According to them he even had a hand in bringing Hurricane Katrina here.

And, of course, the countries of India, Russia, China, Australia, the entire European Union, as well as the developing Asian nations don’t pollute one iota. Nope. Clean as a pin. It all happens in America. Damn that man.

Gas prices. Yep, Bush was at it again. Forget that whole free market thing, OPEC, and the giant oil companies having a mind of their own. Nope. According to the libs Bush dunnit, either through his sheer incompetence or, worse, by picking up a phone and calling his pals in the oil companies just to stick it to the peasant classes. That Bush is a twicky one, Caspar.

The shortage of the flu vaccine. Yep, ol’ Dubya contaminated all those hundreds of thousands of doses himself and through the above mentioned incompetence made darn sure they couldn't be reproduced in time to meet the need of the American people. I'm choking up. It shouldn't have happened. The demos said so. It was Bush’s fault.

And, of course, the Queen Mother of all of the accusations. Somehow, after just eight short months in office, Bush was responsible for 9/11. Nevermind the fact that Clinton was in office for eight years prior to that day. It has somehow become rooted in the popular culture of the left that Bush was somehow at fault and maybe even complicit in bringing down those towers. You almost have to admire the sheer mind twisting stupidity and total lack of logic in that one. Amazing.

What’s next that they can blame Bush for? The cancellation of Arrested Development? Baggy pants? Paris Hilton?

If there’s a way, I’m sure they’ll find it. Blaming Bush has become a mindless obsession and a new art form for the left. If there’s a problem, just blame him. There is no shortage of people out there eager to believe that everything bad is Bush's fault. Hey, I’ve got this rash. I wonder...nevermind.

Is it Bill Clinton’s fault that Dubya ignored N> Korea for 6 years?

PS:

Got any evidence to back that up?

Very good, Ali. I’m always surprised---and delighted---when conservatives do their homework. With many of the folks on this blog, “proof” consists of this three-point argument:

1) Hannity says it,
2) I believe it,
3) That ends it.

Thanks, Ali!

DM have you ever noticed it’s the conservatives on this board that include links and the lefties that throw out wild accusations without a credible link.

What’s going to happen to US industry when the global warming extremists like John McCain double the price of electricity?  I would think all these factories will close and set up in countries where they aren’t scared of technology.

Actually the exact opposite is true.

PS: I still don’t know why it’s Bill Clinton’s fault that Dubya ignored N. Korea for 6 years.

There is a site out there called Blame Bush.com written by a guy named Larry.

It is satire.

And despite the fact that Larry accuses Bush of the most ludricous far fetched things, what he writes sounds pretty much like what you can read on the average lefty site.

Sometimes people are fooled and they believe the guy is serious and that he really blames Bush for everything.

And the people leaving comment - most of them - play along, they pretend to be progressive hippies despising Bush.
Most of them sound believable.

It is satire, even extreme satire I would say, but
I swear the crazier his posts, the more authentic they seem.

No, he extacted the plutonium from a reactor he had before Clinton took office.  What Clinton did was get North Korea to STOP the plutonium-producing reactor and STOP the construction of additional much larger plutonium-producing reactors.

Here’s the link.

Correct buddy. In 1989 apparently (Bush Sr’s fault?). The reactor is a 20 MW supplied mainly by the USSR in the mid eighties. ‘Slick Willie’s govt. negotiated the cease in the construction of a 200 MW and a 700 MW reactor which would have allowed production of about 276 kg of weapons grade Plutonium per year.

It takes about 3 kg of Plutonium for a normalish warhead. Advanced engineering can allow a 20 kt (kiloton equivalent on TNT) warhead to be built from this, WWII tech would only give about 1 kt. The bomb dropped on Nagasaki was 6.1 kg of Plutonium and 20 kt in yield. A crude bomb by modern standards. A crude 3 kg bomb will only yield about 1 kt. This maybe what NK achieved. Noone seems to know (or are saying) for sure.

North Korea never stopped production despite Clinton’s agreements. They smiled, took the money and ran away laughing. The tons of food provided as part of the agreement was fed to their army instead of the population where it was intended to go.

Sorry, Clinton worshippers, but Kim Jong Il played your hero like a fiddle.  The rods from the older reactors were supposed to be given to a third party. North Korea just laughed up their sleeve and continued production instead of living up to their end of the deal.

But, go ahead and blame it on Bush if it will keep Clinton propped up on that pedestal. After all, he’s the only real icon you have. As pathetic as that is.

People who blame and hate a man who did not do enough in 8 months, but defend and admire a man who did not do enough in a period 12 times longer or 96 months ( 8 years ) are not reasonable people.

Any fact you present them will go through the same filter in their head that makes 8 months under a Republican administration a longer period than 96 months under a Democrat administration.

Bin Laden was not offered on a silver plate by Yemen or some other country to Bush in his 8 months, but Bin Laden was offered on a silver plate to Clinton at least twice in his 96 months and he did nothing.

But people with the filter in their head see the opposite of this fact in their head.

Clinton and Madeleine Albright were completely fooled by North Korea, it is obvious, and Bush is only sleeping in the bed Clinton made.

But people with the filter in their head see the opposite of this fact in their head.

I’ve had girlfriends like that;
if SHE forgot to turn off an electric appliance it was my fault, even if I was not home at the time!
I was not there to remind her then it is my fault.

But the next time if I was home and didn’t remind her to turn off the appliance, then I was to blame for not reminding her.

Can’t win with the filter people...they are never accountable, but the opposing side is always accountable for their mistakes…

North Korea never stopped production despite Clinton’s agreements.

Do you have any basis for saying that?  If you’d like a detailed description of what happened, read this:

But the North Koreans had another route to nuclear weapons--a stash of radioactive fuel rods, taken a decade earlier from its nuclear power plant in Yongbyon. These rods could be processed into plutonium--and, from that, into A-bombs--not in years but in months. Thanks to an agreement brokered by the Clinton administration, the rods were locked in a storage facility under the monitoring of international weapons-inspectors. Common sense dictated that--whatever it did about the centrifuges--the Bush administration should do everything possible to keep the fuel rods locked up.

Unfortunately, common sense was in short supply. After a few shrill diplomatic exchanges over the uranium, Pyongyang upped the ante. The North Koreans expelled the international inspectors, broke the locks on the fuel rods, loaded them onto a truck, and drove them to a nearby reprocessing facility, to be converted into bomb-grade plutonium. The White House stood by and did nothing.

So, will? Are you trying to say that DPRK quit working on nuclear weapons until a week ago, when they set up this fake nuke test in order to get everyone to pay attention to them? Or, that despite their continued claims, they never worked on nuclear weapons? Or are you saying that during W’s regime in the 1990s, he, W, smuggled nuke materials into DPRK and told his minnion Kim Jong Il to pretend it was a slushy machine? Not really getting your point here, will.
