Swifties Redux : ABC Re-Writes History

Over at Little Green Footballs, Charles takes note of this bunch of leftwing sour grapes from ABC News, where “more Americans get their news...” according to ABC.

April 4, 2007— While Congress is out of session, President Bush flexed his executive power muscle, appointing businessman Sam Fox as U.S. ambassador to Belgium less than a week after his nomination was pulled when Senate Democrats hammered away at him for donating money to a conservative group that helped sink Sen. John Kerry’s 2004 presidential campaign.

Kerry and Sen. Chris Dodd, D-Conn., led Senate Democrats’ opposition to Fox, who in 2004 contributed $50,000 to the slanderous Swift Boat Veterans for Truth, which used a series of television ads to undermine Kerry’s combat record.

Despite his grilling by Democrats, Fox, the national chairman of the Jewish Republican Coalition, refused to apologize for his donation.

Like Charles Johnson, I seem to have missed the part where the “Swifties” accusations of John Kerry were publicly proven false.  Actually, of course, their accusations were far more truthful and well-documented than those made by the Democrats against the military record of President Bush.

I’m glad that President Bush appointed Sam Fox as ambassador to Belgium despite opposition from the French-sounding, anti-American, confused over whose medals he threw over the fence John Kerry.
IMHO, opposition from Kerry may be a bit of a résumé enhancer!

Proof,

Another modest masterpiece of understatement.

Of course, Mr. Bush, knowing he was going to recess appoint Mr. Fox anyway, still managed to get the junior Senator from Massachusetts to show up for a committee hearing, and that’s no small accomplishment given Kerry’s lackadaisical approach to doing his duty.

I love this because it is a thumb in the eye of Kerry.
Got to give Bush props for sticking to Kerry every chance he gets. Which I think is funny since Kerry never miss an opportunity to call Bush dumb but Bush has many times proved he isn’t as dumb as kerry had portrayed him as being.

ABC? Didn’t they used to be a TV network? Or some such?

Everything’s relative, huh?

Dave,

If you offended by the comparison, then you should certainly be able to detail exactly which specific charges made by the Swift Boat Vets against John Kerry were dishonest or unfounded.

Got anything more relative than rhetorical?

BatOne: If you honestly believe the Swift Boat Veterans didn’t lie, don’t use weasel words ("more truthful")… say they told the truth.

Dave,

I don’t recall any reason to think that you are qualified to critique either my diction or my sentence structure, but then I don’t recall any reason to think you’d have anything substantive to offer either.

Really. I am still waiting for someone to prove that any of the SBVs points are fallacious.

Dave: The SBVT told the Truth! Enough said?

No matter the age or state of health, for a military man it is always glorious to tilt at windmills, rescue a fair Dulcinea and be a gallant knight in armor in a glorious cause.

Interesting how the media never says anything about the false accusations Kerry made in a Congressional hearing where he accused our military of committing atrocities against Vietnam citizens.  Kerry is a scumbag and a traitor and we are most fortunate that he did not win the 2004 election.

You don’t have to be a moron to be a liberal Democrat but it sure helps.

docdave.  I second that.
