This happened to me twice in 1969.  The first time was just outside Travis AFB and I was too stunned to do anything but look dumbly at the young woman who did it.  The second time was a month later in Omaha, I left the guy lying in a pool of his own blood on the sidewalk, and with any luck at all he still sings soprano.  A cop who happened around the corner, a Korean War vet, shook my hand, thanked me for my service, and suggested I leave before the incident was officially called in.

I have a brother who lives an hour or two north of San Francisco, who I’ve been trying to get out to see for a couple months now.  I got my Seattle/Spokane trip a couple weeks ago (I’m considering a post about salmon and huckleberry pie!).

I believe there are at least two other SABers in your general area.  When/if I work things out with my brother, I’ll let you know.  Perhaps we can get together for some adult beverages and a martial arts-testosterone contest!

Yous should be watching Steven Seagal movies instead of Chuck Norris.  Seagal’s background is in Aikido.  Norris’ was originally Okinawan Go-Ju-Ryu, although he was one of the pioneers of contemporary American style.

There is a quote from an old film, the BLUE MAX, wherein a discussion was taking place about the officer corps.  In this case it was the German officer corps and one responded, as if it was self-evident

We are Germany.

Likewise, those who wear the uniform of our armed forces are really the embodiment of America.  Their successes and failures are our successes and failures.

Why then is it that these types despise our Warfighters so?  I think, at bottom, it is because they hate America.  It is a dysfunctional state of being, to have such a foaming hatred of one’s own country. 

While I agree that leaving them in a pool of their own blood would be their just desserts, it would be fitting that they would be deported to the dictatorship of their choice—and, like the MAN WITHOUT A COUNTRY—never to return.
