September 11th: Uniter or Divider
Or is it both?
The parties have an additional agenda to compete on. This equates to more mud-slinging and claims of anti-Americanism from both parties. “We are the most American party” is the claim that any party will tell you. They will say not to look at the others. How many people actually look at the issues?
How many people gave each other phone calls to make sure others were ok on September 11th and after that date? It began with more phone calls than the system could handle, but now we are a nation divided. We are a nation divided politically more than we have ever been- this division is in our heads.
We need to look at the issues instead of pointing at the other side and yelling “look, there’s a monkey!”
We need to realize that there are not just “Neocons” and “Communists”. September 11th and the war on terror are not the only issues to be debated. They are large, complex issues to be dealt with, but everyone in the United States has the right to their opinion. We are not communist, nor are we a dictatorship, thus we are allowed to discuss our opinions freely. Those that state otherwise are able to state their opinions even though their truth may not be true for everyone.
We should be allowed to think what we want to, but some people use September 11th as an excuse to suffocate any opinion that differs from theirs.
Remember that America is a country of immigrants who came here to make their way in life, whether through opinion or action.
Capitalism is every man for himself, and that is how it should be.
Should you choose to help someone out, that would be nice (and possibly beneficial to you).
It is all a matter of choice.
