Senate Votes Down ANWR Drilling

“We can’t drill our way to lower prices,” said Sen. Richard Durbin, D-Ill.

Ever since we repealed that law of supply and demand, economics has been much easier!

the Senate rejected, 56-42, a broader Republican energy plan that called for opening the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge in Alaska and some offshore waters that are now off limits to oil development.

Next time you fill up your gas tank with overpriced gasoline, thank a Democrat!

Maybe we can at least get a roll call vote to see who our friends are?

For any voter trying to choose between the two candidates for commander in chief, there is no better test than this: When American strategy in a critical theater was up for grabs, John McCain proposed a highly unpopular and risky path, which he accurately predicted could lead to success. Barack Obama proposed a popular and politically safe route that would have led to an unnecessary and debilitating American defeat at the hands of al Qaeda.

I said a few days ago they’d squash this like a roach.

I love being right. It’s one of my many character flaws.

And John McCain is solidly in the “lets return to the stoneage” camp. Why the fuck is anyone supposed to vote for him again?

“If you are part of a society that votes, then do so. There may be no candidates and no measures you want to vote for ... but there are certain to be ones you want to vote against. In case of doubt, vote against. By this rule you will rarely go wrong.”

Sorry. We are not allowed to vote “against” candidates. McC has repeatedly and clearly stated he is going to do all the same stupid fucking shit that Obamoid and Billary are going to do.

Why is anyone supposed to vote for him again?

Because, unless you really like the sound of “President Obama”, you don’t have much choice.

So we vote for McC so he can do exactly what Obamoid says he wants to do. That is fucking insane.

2H9,

Actually, that’s not true, my friend.  In the area of foreign policy and national defense, McCain is committed to continuing to defend this country from our enemies while protecting our allies.  Obama has made no such commitment, which explains the fact that his candidacy has the endorsement of the Islamic terrorist group, Hamas.

On the domestic front, McCain is committed to tax cuts and a policy of economic growth.  Obama is committed to raising taxes and increased government oversight of the private sector, the same recipe used by Jimmy Carter.

I disagree with McCain on a a number of issues, some of them very significant.  But though he is clearly not the choice of conservatives, its silly to say McCain would do exactly the same as Obama.

Bravo1, I care not for a single word that comes from McC’s mouth. I look at his 25 years of backstabbing and duplicity. That is why I don’t trust him as far as I can spit.

Say the words “Commander in Chief” and then follow it with the least offensive name!

2H9,

I certainly understand your concerns regarding McCain, just as I’m sure you understand my point as well.  But isn’t it interesting that as vehemently as we each feel, we can still manage to be civil about our disagreement?  A lesson for the leftists.

I read your post extolling McCain’s promises.

He got it abt the fence, He’d “build the D**N FENCE!"… until recently, when he has started to back away from those statements.  Same for amnesty.  Same for taxes, but add anti-producer’s/rich-people rhetoric.

How can a man take his protestation of an inclination to support a “Strong Defense”, yet allow our borders to leak like sive?  Or close Gitmo & main-stream the prisoners, giving non-citizens & terrorists Citizen’s Rights. The list, on this subject, goes on and on.

SCOTUS: we don’t know who he’d nominate, but we know who he wouldn’t: people like Alito and Thomas.  His reason: too conservative.

Think abt that, it says volumes abt the man.  <>He says Original Constructionists are too Conservative!</b>

Why is he better?  Hanging a man slowly is no kindness.

My apologies to Mac Davis.

Well said by Proof; since when does the entry of new vendors fail to move the supply curve in a way advantageous to the customer?

Heh. Love that song. I hope you meant the song when you said that was me and not one of the little red-headed muppets in the background.

Do I have to answer that one?  Lessee, if you’ve pulled me over and are debating whether to write that ticket, it’s DEFINITELY Mac Davis, not the muppet… :^)

Actually, I was just building off Proof’s comment.  And thanks for the link.
