Saddleback handling of presidential forum tickets angers some

LAKE FOREST - Pastor Rick Warren is not on Greg Burger’s A-list.

When the 26-year-old Lake Forest resident found out about the John McCain-Barack Obama forum at Saddleback Church this Saturday, he did what a lot of people did: He checked the church Web site as often as he could to get the most up-to-date ticket information.

“I knew my only chance to receive tickets would be to act fast,” Burger said.

...Church officials said they’d hoped to have some tickets available for the public but ran out when they couldn’t satisfy demand among church members, who got the first crack at tickets that sold for $500 to $2,000.

Comments

Putting aside my views of the intermingling of politics & the “church”, I see no problem with the distribution.
If the event was scheduled to be covered by the media, there should be no problem with fair access & disclosure.
Shouldn’t the organization throwing the event get to choose who got access?
I would think it would reduce the security liabilities, too.

Pparets: That totally uncalled for attack on pancakes and pancake suppers is blasphemous! smile

No matter the age or state of health, for a military man it is always glorious to tilt at windmills, rescue a fair Dulcinea and be a gallant knight in armor in a glorious cause.

I like their seafood and western omelets, not wild about their batter recipe. Just lacking something. And yes, from 11:55 till 13:30 they are busy.
